jQuery Animated Headers – Nivo Slice Animation

In this video tutorial we will look at changing from using the Cycle jQuery Plugin to the Nivo Slider for a different effect. It’s easy and gives you a few more options. Make sure you have seen jQuery Animated Headers Part 1 and Part 2 for the foundation to what I am doing here.

jQuery003 – Animated Header w/o Flash or BannerZest

jquery_logoNOTICE: This process is not working in all RW themes. I have spent hours looking for the issue and a solution. So far none. If I do, I will post a new tutorial on this. Dec. 3, 2009 END NOTICE.

Adding nice looking header animations to your theme is easier than you might think.

This cast will show you how to build them into the theme, call up images from the built in images folder and adjust the animation to your liking. No Flash, Bannerzest or any other application. Just images and jQuery.

Gen001 – SyntaxHighlighter

syntaxhighlighterGetting code to show well on a website with easy copy/paste, print and view.

I was researching a Cast I (still) want to do and I came across a nice code display with a couple of nice easy to use features.

I decided to make a Cast on this while I finish up my research for the next Cast. Though Rapidweaver users have the Highlight Plugin, this SyntaxHighlighter can be used with any web design software, including RW.

This Cast has a couple of “warts”. I left these in as I find the solution for each issue and thought it might be useful to viewers to see. Things go wrong while recording and often we cut them out or redo the cast. I like to leave them in as long as the information gained is useful.

Hope you enjoy this cast and maybe have a good laugh (or at least a chuckle)

RW054 – Breadcrumb Separator

rw-advancedHave you ever wanted to have something other than the standard breadcrumb separator?
