Members Cast:

Formloom is a great plugin and our previous screencast walks you through setting up the form, receiving the email and sending a response but did you know that you can save these emails or form responses in a MySQL database.

The key topic areas covered will be

- initial Form Setup
- creating your database and tables for the form responses
- FormLoom setup for MySQL
- Tips/tricks any gotchas

Special credits to YabDab for making a rockin plugin and for answering my emails :) and Ronan Cashell (IT-ISS) for special guidance on all things database and PHP – Ronan is also available for any PHP/Database consultancy so drop him an email

    Ronan,
Have MySQL on my host server. Once I configure response form how much is your charge for tying form into MySQL to give me following standard data fields:

Name, phone, email, geographic location, date of initial response contact, nature of inquiry

Absolutely brilliant tutorial, thanks so much for this. The walkthrough is clear and well explained, my database worked first time!

Excellent! This saved me sooooooo much time.

One question – you put the date field in as DATE, although FormLoom is sending date and time. Is there any reason you didn’t use DATETIME?

    Hello

I submitted this to the RapidWeaver Forum but there were no responses so I thought that I would try here …

I am wanting to enter a hyperlink into the form and have it appear as a link in RapidTable. I was thinking I would have to apply a format to the field in the mySql database but I am not sure how to proceed.

A test form and table are here …

Many thanks if you can help. Not sure if you monitor this but will also check with the developer of RapidTable.

    Deb
