RapidWeaver – Adding Google + 1 Code

In this short tutorial , sorry it’s so short that doing a video would be too much :D  We will explain how to integrate the Google +1 code into your RapidWeaver Page. To keep it simple we will just use a Styled Text page for this instruction

Get the code

Get_the_code.png

Go to URL http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmasters/+1/button/index.html , this is the international version

We will just use the defaults provided on the opening page

1. Script Code to go in the Page Inspector javascript section
2. the HTML where you want the +1 button to appear (in our example the sidebar is our choice)

Add Scripts

Add_Scripts.png

1. Open Page Inspector
2. Select Header
3. Header Tab
4 . Add the script section of the +1 code

Add Code to SideBar

Add the HTML Code ., remember you can place this anywhere … Important Step now follows!

Ignore the formatting

As we are using Styled Text Mode , we will need to select the text and ignore the formatting. The Text will then turn pink as in our example.

Call to Action Button Stack – Overview

Today I wanted to bring you a brief overview of a new Stack from Gary Byrd over at Kuler Solutions. The Call to Action Button Stack is a really easy to use Stack that you can add to a variety of web sites to direct your visitors to perform a specific action.

Gary has provided a short tutorial/demo on his web site that you can view here but I thought it would be fun to show you the actual Stack within the RapidWeaver environment.

Expandable Sticky Bar – Free Public Video

Here’s an interesting Javascript from DynamicDrive that uses the jQuery library.

In this video tutorial I wanted to introduce RapidWeaver users to the Expandable Sticky Bar. I often see users looking for a “fixed” footer or header type situation in their design layouts and this Javascript provides such a feature.

Its very easy to use and in this free public screencast I quickly go over how you can explore this option to obtain this type of look and feel.

The stackBack Stack

stackBack-iconThe stackBack Stack is a "classic" Stack that was introduced back when the Stacks plug-in made its debut. After researching the RapidWeaver forum I found that the Stack was no longer available for download.

Since it was a freely available Stack, I packaged it up with a single page PDF and have made it available for everyone to enjoy. Download stackBack.

I wanted to share how stackBack can add creativity to your Stacks and flair to your page layouts. So join me on this video tutorial covering the basics of the stackBack Stack.
